First edition hardcover of Alfred Joseph Clark’s  "The Mode of Action of Drugs on Cells." Published by Edward Arnold & Co., London, 1933. Bound in the original blue cloth with gilt lettering on the spine. This copy bears unique provenance, featuring a front endpaper inscription noting its acquisition from a medical library sale in New Haven, Connecticut in 1979, and written directly below a prior contemporary owner's inscription dated March 1934. There is noticeable handling wear, rubbing, and aging to the cloth spine and covers, alongside moderate wear and loosening to the binding. Pages display typical age-appropriate toning.
