Antique Art Deco ring by the historic American jewelry firm Ostby & Barton. The ring features a vibrant rectangular emerald-cut deep red garnet set within a distinctive two-tone gold mounting. The design combines a polished 14K yellow gold shank with structured white gold geometric accents characteristic of the Art Deco period.

The interior of the shank bears the Ostby & Barton maker's mark, a "14K" purity mark, a crescent moon-style stamp, and a Maltese cross hallmark. The Maltese cross is a known mark found on Ostby & Barton gemstone rings and adds additional collector interest to the piece.

Ostby & Barton was founded in Providence, Rhode Island, by Engelhart Cornelius Ostby and Nathan B. Barton. Ostby, a prominent jeweler and designer, died in the sinking of the RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912 while returning from Europe. He was carrying gems and precious stones acquired during his travels at the time of the disaster.
