An antique hand-colored lithographic map sheet originating from the landmark Atlas Universel de Géographie, published in Brussels by pioneering cartographer Philippe Vandermaelen. This monumental atlas was the first world map series produced entirely via lithography and the first to map the entire globe on a uniform scale. The upper margin of this plate is titled "Amer. Sep." for North America, designated as "Petits Antilles" (Lesser Antilles), and numbered map sheet "No. 75", detailing Caribbean islands from Saint Croix down through the island chain. Unsigned and unmarked and housed in a  bamboo-style frame. There are notable water spots and staining localized to the lower left section, along with overall paper toning and foxing, and some surface wear to the frame.
